The Simmons 22 mag scopes are a great value for the money. As an Appleseed rifle instructor I see a lot of these scopes on the line, they just plain work. In fact, I have two of them mounted on loaner rifles and am about to order a third. My son has one on his 22 rifle. I can't think of a better scope to mount on a 22 rifle for everyday use. They are ideal for hunting, plinking and Appleseed. The only problem with them is the rings that come with them are too high. You need lower rings to get a proper cheek weld. Pros: Well built, economical rimfire scope Cons: Supplied rings are too high

This scope pisses me off! I paid 12 times as much for my Leopold, but this inexpensive scope is just as clear! I'm using it on a Ruger 10/22. I sighted it in easy enough, but then it lost it's zero. I looked and the rear sight ring, and scope had backed up off of the rail! I suggest a little locktight to prevent the screws on the rings from coming loose. You will be hard pressed to find a better scope for the money! I'm still fuming!

Overall I am pleased with this scope. For the money, it's a very good value. It has clear optics, good reticle and should work fine on my Ruger 10/22 rifle. The rings that come along with the scope did not fir the Ruger-suppied scope rail, but I picked up some rings at Walmart that did the trick. My scope had some sticky stuff on the rear lens that appeared almost as a floater inside the eye. Upon closer examination, I saw some glue or gunk on the lens. It was VERY tough to remove and I thought I was going to damage the lens trying to remove it. It may have been a manufacturing issue with the lens coating. I was able to remove it with solvents and scrubbing, otherwise it was going back. The features of this scope such as the large eyebox, easy zeroing and magnification adjustment make this scope ideal for my purposes. I dont have a problem recommending this scope. Pros: Clear optics Cons: Scope rings did not work on my 10/22, some sticky gunk on rear lens

After receiving the replacement scope for use on a Ruger 10-22 SS Takedown, I used a pair of Warne QD rings to match the silver color and headed for the range several times. Pleased to report the performance was excellent after getting sighted in. Consistent 1-2" groupings @ 50 yds. I also removed the scope several times, and it held zero. It took a lot of initial adjustments to get it zeroed-in, but what I discovered is that this is best done @ the 50 yd. range. Closer shots were for some reason difficult to adjust. A solid four stars to this bargain optic and the only blemish is there is what some call "eye-shadow" when the sunlight reflects on the objective @ a certain angle, but an extension cup would resolve that annoying issue. I would certainly recommend this as a great intro-level scope for rimfire arms; excellent price, nice looks, is streamlined and doesn't overwhelm the gun; easily adjustable power ring; clear glass; very crisp reticle, and sold by a company that has a wonderful return policy, and without it I would not be providing an updated review.

With my older eyes and glasses, the stock 10/22 sights were nearly useless so had to add some optics. I didn’t want to spend over half of what I had in the rifle on a scope but I did want a proven product with good range and performance for my basic shooting needs at a reasonable price . This scope fits the bill on all counts! The enclosed rings are adequate, scope zeroed easily, reticle is fine and I’m happy with the clarity. For a general duty scope on your rimfire it’s a great scope

I am really impressed by Simmons 22 Mag 3-9x scopes (I have two now). The eye pieces is very forgiving making it easy to quickly get a site picture. The optics have exceptional clarity at all powers settings. I was able to site it in with only 15 shots it has held perfectly for 5 more trips to the range. Pros: clear & easy to focus at all powers Cons: focus ring moves too easily

I mounted this scope on my Ruger 10/22 takedown. The AO is sized right and allows for a crystal clear view at all magnification settings. The eye relief is consistent and works great as you change magnification levels. Solid clicks when adjusting the knobs without tools, just fingers. All adjustments were smooth and didn't change during shooting. Overall great features for under $100 and the silver matte compliments the stainless 10/22 nicely. Pros: Clarity, adjustment features,& reliability Cons: Mounting Rings could be improved.

The scope is well made and easily installs with the mounting rings that came with it, its easy to adjust and the view is clean and clear... great product for a small bore rife like the Ruger 10/22 I mounted mine on.

Purchased one of these for my savage mark 2 .22lr a few years ago, just now writing a review. Extremely impressed with this little scope. I have friends who have purchased other scopes in the $100 and less price range, and this thing is way clearer at 9x at the edges of the optics than the others. I've gone as much as a full year without doing a re-zero, and it was still spot on. If I had a .17hmr, I would probably look into buying another one. I even accidently knocked my gun down, and it still groups wonderfully. I was amazed. Absolutely reccomend this scope to someone that wants to pair it up with a rimfire, and wouldn't be too surprised if it held up to light center fire recoil. All in all, its a great buy.

Owning three Simmons scopes already and being extremely pleased with them, the 511037 rimfire was a natural choice. It sits atop a Ruger 10/22 Volquartsen custom and performs as well as scopes priced many times priced higher. Pros: Exceptional quality for a modest price

Great scope, especially for the money. The silver looks great on my Marlin Model 60SB (stainless). Very bright, easy to zero and holds zero well. I can hot a spinner target at 50-100yds consistantly with this scope. Although I am not typically a Simmons fan, you'd have to spend over $100 to equal or surpass this particular scope. Pros: accurate, holds zero, clear Cons: Made in China

Good Optics for the price. I installed it on my Marlin 60 it preforms great. Easy to install. My only complaint were the rings are cheap. I had to buy a better set of rings (no big deal) If I had to do it over again. I would buy this scope.

Mounted the scope with included rings onto a Remington 597. Works well, is very stable, and easy to adjust. Glass quality could be better, but is pretty nice considering the price.

Great scope for the price. Mounting rings could be better but overall it is a great scope. I zeroed it out, probably placed 200 rounds through the rifle and the scope was spot on. I retightened the mounting rings but no major issues. Can't beat it for the price. Highly recommend.

Should come with standard 3/4 in mounts. Old .22 mounts hardly used any longer...This scope is a good buy, however, Goes well with my 10/22 Pros: good adjusting hardware, parallax correct Cons: clicks not clean

I needed a new scope for my 22 cal rifle and this fit the bill. Two shots and was dead on. Its great. I would recommend this scope and its a great price to boot! great finish and i was out in the snow /rain and it didn't fog up. I don't think your going to go wrong with this scope and I removed it and put in on my 30/30 and it worked just fine there also. Popped a couple varmits on the farm and then put it back on my 22. I think i'll just order a another for my 30/30.

I mounted this on a Ruger 10/22 and zeroed for 100yds. It is accurate and relatively clear. The problem is eye relief. Your eye must be perfectly positioned in order to get a sight picture or everything goes black.I have removed this scope and replaced with a Nikon 3x9. It is worth twice the price to be able to quickly acquire a target and stay on target for multiple shots. I have put this scope on a bolt action gun where it performs fine for individual shots.

Nice bright image, especially at lower power. Good diopter adjustment as well as reticle adjustments. Eye relief at high power is pretty narrow. The rings are very low quality....I replaced with a good set of steel rings. Pros: Very clear and bright Cons: Rings are unusable

Super fast shipping. Mounted on my Ruger 10/22 carbine I already had good rings so used them, took 9 rounds to zero in and can obliterate center of 100 YD small bore target at 50 YDS. If it continues to perform like this Squirrels need to hide. Super pleased with this scope, would be hard to beat for the money. Highly recommend. Pros: All 5's Cons: none

Great little scope for my Smith and Wesson m&p 15-22. how ever the rings are to small for my rail even though its a PIC rail. it has a nice changeable zoom for both the range and the eye focus. It has a good weight and looks fantastic on the new gun

Installed on a Marlin 925M. I actually would give this 4.5 stars if I could, as it is a great value for the money. It has good clear glass and easily adjusted with out tools. Only one negative; When making windage/elevation adjustments there is supposed to be a definitive/audible click. The elevation has this click the windage does not. Not a huge deal breaker as you can still feel it when making adjustments.

Product was as advertised. No surprises. Clear instructions and easy to mount and use. Easy to zero in. Good addition to my 22 Mag rifle. I have owned other 22 scopes and they did not last. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good 22 mag scope.

At the price it is truly hard to beat. Also was compounded by a rebate to just drive the value up even higher. for a rimfire shooting small game under 100yards this would be my recommendation paralax would be an issue if you are using this one on a long gun potentially. appears to hold zero, wish the adjustment clicks were more pronounced.

This scope is exactly what it is suppose to be. A fantastic buy for the money. The Ruger rail does not accept the rings well so I'll need to purchase another rail. Nicely built as well with excellent finish.

This scope works very well on my Henry 22lr. In fact, I liked it so much that I purchased another one for my new Henry 17HMR. They both were quick and easy to install. Compared to much more expensive Burris scopes that I own, I really enjoy the quick focus. I am now looking at a bolt action 17 HMR for longer distance shooting, and you can bet I will top it with a Simmons. Pros: Low price, rings included, clear optics, easy to focus

Bought this for my Ruger 10/22 stainless that I just purchased. Looks very good and matches the rest of the rifle. After bore sighting it was on the paper, (18"x18'). Moved left and up a number of clicks and was shooting 1" groups at 25 yards. Haven't shot out to 50 or 100 yet but will try that soon. Very pleased so far.

I ordered this scope on Tuesday, July 26 and it was delivered on the 27th. Exceptional delivery time from Optics Planet. Very easy installation on Henry H001. I couldn't locate any information on length and was disappointed to see it was 13" long. Overwhelming for the Henry...shorter is better! Scope was WAY off, took a long time to even get on paper. Once it was zeroed in, I was shooting 2" circles at 50 yds. with bulk Federal ammo off a card table and log, so it seems pretty accurate. I was disappointed with light transmission. I was shooting near dark and had to take it clear down to 3 to let a decent amount of light in. May have to upgrade down the road, but basically a good scope for the money! Pros: Price, decent glass Cons: 13" long, took a long time to zero

This scope has relatively clear glass, decent reticle adjustments, and is solidly constructed (for the price point). For a plinker .22, this will do just fine. For something you would rely on for food or defense, look to higher quality scopes.

I used a silver 22 Mag for many, many years on top of a Marlin 983S. I purchased it when I bought the rifle and it worked so well I honestly forgot that it was a budget scope. Later, when I had the funds and the time, I upgraded only because I could, not because I needed to. If you're an optics snob it's pretty easy to dismiss a $50 scope but I'm here to tell you, the 22Mag is a little gem. It worked amazingly well on my .22WMR and never gave me a bit of trouble. I've punched a lot of paper and dropped a lot of small game and it never missed a beat. I think I was even using the included rings! It's not $1000 glass and you shouldn't expect it to be, but if you want a solid rimfire scope with a proven track record, it's hard to go wrong with Simmons.

Was in the market for optics for my Marlin .22, looking for a decent scope that would not break the bank, its going on a .22 rifle. Shopped around and read the reviews for this scope, never heard of Simmons before. I liked the fact that the scope came with rings and lens covers (even thought they are cheap plastic). Mounting it was easy, no issues, glass was clear, we have put 1,000 plus rounds thru the rifle using the scope and I have to say the scope has worked out great once we sighted it in (took about 10 rounds). Not sure on how durable this scope will be in the long run but for the price it has been well worth the money, excellent price value. Would recommend it for anyone looking for an inexpensive scope for target practice or introducing shooting to a younger person.

I purchased this after reading reviews and noting it was rated as a best buy. I was prepared to spend a good deal more money, but I'm glad I bought this. I put it on a .22 LR Ruger Target model, not a .22 Magnum. It's a little large for most .22's, but looks right on the heavy barrel target model. It was easy to install and zero. The morning after installing it I arose before daylight and sat with it on the back patio as the sun came up. The light gathering properties compare favorably with a $200+ brand name scope I used to be happy with! This scope is my second Simmons and I'm happy with both of them. This scope represents real value. My only complaint would be the rings, included free, could be a little better. I may replace them later.

Bought this scope for my lever action 22 Henry. It fits well , although I’d like a shorter scope but wasn’t willing to pay the price . I now have the option to shoot scoped or sight. The Henry shoots so flat that I wanted to have the option of a scope for long distance shooting . I saw complaints about the rings being cheap don’t understand that complaint they lock on just fine , easy on easy off. Optics are fine .

The scope is great. No complaints there. I didn't know it came with rings when I ordered it but it may as well not have included them. They are garbage. Both my screws were bad and wouldn't thread in and the clamp didn't fit tight on a dovetail or weaver type mount. I tossed the mounts and ordered other ones.

This is an excellent scope for the $$$$$..Optics are better than one would expect for the price..once I got it zeroed in ..Holds it's mark extremely well...I put over 500 rounds thru my Marlin .22 Mmag using this scope..I liked it sooo well I bought a second one for my new Savage BTVS. Even after getting Knocked aroud fairly hard by my nephews it was still Dead on at 50 yrds. And once again ..for the price Simmons Scopes are well worth the small amount of Money spent..

For an entry-level scope, I was impressed with the clarity of the glass, the crisp reticle, and the slim design that is perfect for my rimfire caliber rifle. The rings actually clamped down very well onto the dovetail rail mount, which was surprising considering that most purchasers had bad experience with them, understandably. The zoom worked well, albeit quite stiff to turn. The finish is rather thin and the lens covers are hard plastic, but they serve a function. First volley on the range and the accuracy was amazing (one inch high, but tight group @ 20 yds.). However, that's where all the great things stopped as the elevation turret would not change the reticle to adjust the point of impact. Thanks to the generous return and shipping policy by OP, it has been sent back for an exchange. Normally I would just get something different, but I believe the Simmons .22 mag rimfire scope is a very good buy if everything is working properly, so I will give it another chance to redeem itself. I can only recommend this product at this time because of OPs return policy and will provide further review after the replacement is received and tested. Ergo, currently a 2 star performance because of a major malfunction, but with the potential for 5 if it works to full potential.

For a 22 it makes a good scope for the price. I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for, but since your life shouldn't be depending on a .22 then it should work for most people's needs. it zeroed great and has held zero so far. but i think for the price its worth it. Pros: Cheap, holds zero

Great price on a very adequate rimfire scope. Not a Nikon or Leupold but priced way below these competitiors. Perfect starter scope for a youth rimfire. Cons: adjustment ring overly tight and cheap lense caps

I was great but it made in china and simmion will make you pay shiping for the warrent vs other brands but overall a great scope for the money and shiping was fast for value shiping. I bought this scope today, I used the rings that came with this scope. I put it on a Ruger model 10 or 20 (I think) lever action 22. Sighted it in a 50 yards. First shot was 6 inches left, second shot 3 inches left, 3rd shot bullseye. 100 shots later at 50 yards my grouping isn't bigger than a half dollar at 50 yards! I am so impressed with this for the price, I highly recommend! Pros: Extremely easy to use! Cons: Not a thing!

Great scope for my Ruger 10/22. The mounts come with the scope and they are a perfect match for my stainless rifle. Price was right and the shipping was fast. I would recommend this scope for any small rifle.

For the novice shooter it is a good introduction to optics. Pros: good optics for the price. Cons: requires more refocusing of eyepiece.

This is an excellent scope for the money. Took 15 min sit sight in and have had 3 kills in 3 attempts (all head shots). For a 22lr field gun it can not be beat. Pros: Price

I loved this scope for the value! The finish and fit seems great - and the rings added to the value. I don't agree with the complaints about the rings - it's a pretty inexpensive scope - but I had no problems with the mounting. The only complaint I had was that the reticle adjustment was sticky - but responded after a few extra twists. Also, the scope is longer than I had hoped so that my take-down 22 barely fits into the case now - even with the scope mounted as far back as possible. I think I would have bought the straight 4X scope since it's shorter - had I realized the problem. Other than that - scope looks and works great. Pros: Good eye relief, bright view for an inexpensive scope. Cons: Recital adjustment stuck

I have now bought 2 of these scopes and couldnt be happier with them. They are extremely clear and the eye adjustment is very quick and vivid. I highly reccommend this scope. I was also very happy with the communication and customer service. Fastest shipping ever!!! Pros: Very clear, excellent quality Cons: none

The scope was sent without the required (and supposed to be included) mounting rings, so I can't review it completely. OpticsPlanet was contacted over a month ago regarding this ommission, but I have yet to receive the missing parts. Pros: well made, superior clarity, good eye relief

I'm very Impressed with the picture quality of this scope. Also functions excellent. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the windage and elevation adjustments are a little mushy. But it does hold zero well.

I have several Simmons scopes. All with the exception of one, have been very reliable and trouble free. The exception has been returned for warranty repairs. Pros: Clear optics, tracks well

This scope is everything I wanted for a 22 Long Rifle! I replaced the rings only because I wanted a "High Base" that would allow me to see under the scope to use the original metal mounted sites when I wanted too. Pros: Very clear, Solid, Easy adjustments, Nice looking, Price Cons: None

Picked this up for my 10/22. Good overall scope. Only reason for 4-stars is the mounting rings. The dovetail rings didn’t work on my factory rail and ultimately are just not very solid. I ended up picking up some weaver rings to put on my factory rail and works great. Holds solid zero and has better than expected eye relief. Can’t beat this for the price.
